Merchandiser
The merchandising position is part-time, seasonal. Hours will vary during peak and non-peak weeks and can include weekends. The role of merchandisers is to execute Green Circle Growers merchandising program at the store level. This position is responsible for caring & maintaining plants, creating displays, completing inventory management, assisting customers/vendors as needed. This job requires the merchandiser to perform physical tasks as well as maintain communication with store associates, regional merchandisers and Green Circle Growers. Grower/Assistant Grower
A Grower/Assistant Grower is directly responsible for the product quality of the assigned production area. Tasks include the monitoring and control of the greenhouse environment using automated equipment, nutrition management and application, crop record keeping, IPM (Disease / Sanitation / Pesticide application.) The growing staff rotates on a 40+ hour work week, including weekends and holidays. A horticulture background is required and a horticulture degree or similar is preferred. Internship
The Intern Program at Green Circle Growers has grown exponentially in recent years. Students from Holland, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and The Ukraine have all benefited from time spent at GCG. Interns are expected to have a keen interest in learning plant culture. Growing on a smaller scale is very different than commercial growing. Many interns are surprised at how much technology is used in our growing process-the desire and ability to learn and understand these systems is essential to the modern grower. While we are teaching them growing techniques in the greenhouse, they are also becoming part of a team-a very important part of any future job they might find themselves.
